Conversation by Raimi Gbadamosi and Kimathi Donkor @ The Collection, Lincoln 22 November

A talk with Raimi Gbadamosi, curator of 'What's Going On?' exhibition at the Usher Gallery and Kimathi Donkor one of the featured artists of the show on 22 November 2013.

Professor Raimi Gbadamosi is the second guest artist/curator to create a new hang of Lincolnshire's permanent collections in The Usher Gallery. By working with guest curators to change the displays on a regular basis we aim, in addition to bringing out rarely seen works, to encourage and challenge visitors to see and think about the collections in new ways. Raimi Gbadamosi's selection of works from Lincolnshire County Council’s collections is complemented by loans from other collections and from contemporary artists including works by Kimathi Donkor.

Raimi Gbadamosi is an artist, currently based in South Africa, whose work questions the origins of racial and cultural identity; he brings his own perspective to Lincolnshire’s distinctive collections.
In his paintings Kimathi Donkor explores political and social narratives about race, power and colonialism through the use of conventions in traditional western art.
